Service Description

A 120-minute online coaching session for couples navigating religious belief differences, faith transitions, or a mixed-faith marriage. Religious differences can create profound emotional, spiritual, and relational strain within a marriage. One spouse may be questioning certain doctrines (such as polygamy or temple ordinances), historical claims, or institutional teachings. One may remain deeply committed to the faith while the other experiences significant changes in belief, participation, or religious identity. In some marriages, one spouse may leave the faith entirely. These changes can affect far more than religious practice. They may raise difficult questions about trust, family expectations, parenting, identity, belonging, morality, temple participation, extended-family relationships, and the future of the marriage. Conversations can quickly become painful, defensive, combative, or deeply personal. Coaching sessions are designed for LDS, and mixed-faith couples who want to work through these differences without allowing them to erode trust, emotional safety, companionship, or sexual intimacy. Drawing on my professional experience as a sexual intimacy and relationship coach for Christian couples, as well as my personal experience navigating a mixed-belief marriage, I help couples develop greater understanding, communicate more effectively, and remain emotionally and intimately connected even when they do not reach the same conclusions. Couples will learn how to discuss sensitive concerns without contempt, self-righteousness, pressure, or dismissal. They will also explore what these differences represent emotionally for each spouse, reduce recurring conflict, rebuild empathy and trust, and protect the emotional and sexual intimacy of their marriage. The goal is not to determine which spouse is right, persuade either person to stay in or leave a faith, or pressure anyone to change their beliefs. The goal is to help couples understand one another more deeply, strengthen their relationship, and create a healthier path forward while honoring the conscience, agency, and emotional well-being of both spouses.
