Premarital Course: "Becoming One"

Service Description

This is a practical, frank, fun and educational group course for engaged Christian couples. The three-week course includes six 90-minute online group sessions, each consisting of 60 minutes of guided teaching followed by 30 minutes of group discussion and live Q&A. One of the sessions will be exclusive to the grooms and one to the brides. Participants' faces and names do not appear, so that privacy is maintained. Participants communicate/ask questions via chat. Class size is limited to ten couples/20 persons. Price listed is per couple, not individual. Participants will learn the essential components of a healthy, emotionally connected, and passionate marriage relationship. Topics include: • an introduction to male and female sexual psychology and how it influences sexual attitudes and behaviors, expectations, etc. • how male/female physiological differences can both challenge and enhance the relationship, and how to manage incompatibilities that may arise • Developing calm, effective, and non-defensive communication skills for navigating difficult conversations about sexual intimacy with honesty and respect. • learning how to navigate inhibitions, fears, expectations, mismatched sexual desires, differences in libido, and misunderstandings that often arise within married sexual relationships. • thoughtfully addressing differences in religious interpretations of sexual morals and values, while examining common religious and cultural misconceptions that may unintentionally interfere with sexual compatibility and fulfillment • the approaches and practical skills that women secretly wish their husbands would apply in and outside of the bedroom (grooms' session only) • the practical skills and mindset that men secretly long for their wives to adopt in and outside of the bedroom (brides' session only) Participants are offered a values-aligned and gospel-aligned framework that supports both emotional closeness and mutually satisfying intimacy within marriage. Note to Parents: Many young Christian couples begin marriage deeply committed to one another but without practical guidance on building a fulfilling, mutually satisfying intimate relationship. Sometimes, well-meaning parents offer last-minute advice that is tainted by their own angst. This course offers couples the sound preparation many of us wish we had received, helping them start married life with understanding, confidence, and a strong foundation for lasting connection, love, and passion.
